Take a hike…

Aug.01.2011

While you are at it, make sure you take your favorite four legged pal along with you. With summer in full swing, there is no better place to escape than a cool lake shaded by tall trees and miles of trails for you and your dog to explore. If you are lucky to live in or around Northern California this magical combination can be found just North of the Golden Gate Bridge in Mt. Tamalpais National Park. Grab your hound, pooch, pup, or whatever nickname you whisper when no-one’s around, and follow the highway signs toward Mt. Tamalpais. The short drive will put you on top of the mountain and in the middle of the clouds amongst thousands of acres of redwoods pumping out plenty of fresh oxygen for you and your hiking buddy. At the top, follow the trailhead signs toward Cataract Creek which will take you on a beautiful trek past waterfalls, moss covered trees, streams and campgrounds finally ending at Alpine lake. ┬áThese same stomping grounds are what inspired us to develop Fozzy Dog so that you can run, skip, hike, jump all while keeping your wits about you (and your keys, phone, treats, bags for that matter!). But beware, this isn’t a hike for the faint of heart so make sure to bring plenty of water and treats for you know who. So go on…take a hike for pups sake.
